I’ve recently had the great pleasure of presenting my work on Scottish UFOs to the Glasgow Skeptics Society (16 July 2024) and then just a few days later to an audience at the Arthur Conan Doyle Centre (19 July 2024). There were are about 35 attending the former, held in the Admiral Woods Bar in central Glasgow, and about 50 at the latter, held in the Centre’s very pleasant Victorian Townhouse in the West End of Edinburgh. I’d heard a lot about the Centre from friends and networks, but this was my first time I’d been in the building.
Both audiences gave lots of thought-provoking feedback and questions. How was I going to handle UFOs in Scotland in the internet era? Did UFOs take longer to get off the ground in Scotland as opposed to England? Had I seen a UFO myself? (Answers: not sure yet; yes, I think so; no – but wouldn’t turn down the opportunity.)
It was really interesting as well to hear from an audience member who had actually attended the The Cosmic Agenda Lecture in 1995 … and found it to be a very positive experience.
In light of audience feedback, I’m also keeping an eye open for more images to add to the talk as it develops.
